DID YOU KNOW?

Spray-On Bedliners WILL RUIN the bed of your truck?

When a spray-on bedliner is installed, they must first grind the surface of your truck bed and sides down to the factory metal! This means that you will most definitely void the paint warranty of your truck, possibly the ENTIRE WARRANTY.

GMC Truck Bed Liner Options

Your GMC Deserves The Best, Get A Dual Liner Bed Liner Today!

If you own a GMC pick up truck then you know how important it is to protect the truck bed of your truck. The ever popular GMC Sierra 1500,2500HD and 3500HD trucks have been around for a long time. For the longest time there was not many options when it comes to a bed liner for your GMC pick up truck bed. There is the drop in bed liners that are not a custom fit but more of a one size fits all they are good because they will fit in many truck beds and offer protection against dents. The problem with those is over time they will start to really wear away at your factory paint when paint is worn down that is a great place for rust to start and everyone knows that rust is the killer of any truck bed. So the next option was to go with a spray on bed liner many people have really seemed to like the spray on bed liner because it gives them that custom look and fit that the standard drop in bed liner lacked. It also covers your factory paint so damaging your paint is out of the question. A few things that people don’t like about the spray on bed liner is it does not offer much in the way of dent protection. So what some GMC truck owners are doing is buying a dualliner truck bed liner a dualliner truck bed liner is the best way to protect your GMC truck bed. The dualliner is a custom fit bed liner made exactly to for your GMC truck weather you have a 1500,2500,3,500 long bed short bed or even dually it doesn’t matter the dualliner will fit your truck bed perfect and it will not fade chip or crack away. It will also give you the added protection against dents because it has a 3/8 zero skid rubber mat that keeps your cargo in place so your contents in your truck bed don’t slide around and cause cargo damage. So if you want a bed liner for your GMC truck make sure to look into a “Dual Liner” bed liner.

Fix a Damaged Spray On Bed Liner

Being in the aftermarket truck accessorie industry I come across a lot of post asking how to fix a bad or damaged spray on bedliner. I started to do some research and the following is what I have learned. Here is a video of what a spray on bed liner installer does to prep your truck for the spray in installation:

It really is pretty disturbing when you see it, the installer actually uses a grinder to remove the truck’s paint. They have to scuff the area for the spray on to adhere to the surface. So let me recap, they purposely damage your truck’s paint, more than likely voiding the truck’s factory warranty, all in the name of “protection”. It’s really ridiculus when you think about it.

Bed Liner Blunders!

In an effort to protect truck beds there has been many bed liners invented that have really missed the mark. I can see why people have a hard time finding a bed liner that lives up to their expectations. In many cases I found that it takes years to figure it out, that is if you do not  do the proper research. This is how my story goes and I find it quite comforting that I know that I am not alone in this process of elimination. My first truck was a 1990 ford F150 2 wheel drive with the 5.0 Liter V8, I bought it new in June and absolutely loved it, that is until snow flew, it was horrible in the winter. Any ways, I had a local truck accessory store install a plastic “drop in” bed liner in it, I was told at the time that if I was using my truck for work that this was the way to go. Over time the plastic liner held up pretty well, I thought it did a great job of absorbing the wear and tear I inflicted on it. One thing I did not like about the “drop in bed liner” was that my cargo would slide around in the back of my truck like it was a skating rink and I could not use the factory tie downs to secure it because it has covered them up.  A couple of years went by and I was getting the itch to step up to the 4X4 that Chevrolet just made over, so I got the truck detailed and ready for sale.
